DIY Flying Oitment

With a willing spirit and practice you don't need to use anything else to have an astral projection experience. However, there have been ointments, lotions, teas and pillows used to aid the would-be traveller in their astral travels. The most famous probably being a the witches flying ointment.

There are many recipes for flying ointment most of which use poisonous herbs and plants to achieve an out of body experience (use at your own peril!!). It's been suggested that the tales of witches riding on broomsticks stem from them using the handle of their brooms to apply the flying lotion to sensitive areas of skin (I won't elaborate but use your imagination!).

If you'd like to make your own flying ointment here's a recipe which makes use of non toxic and legal (UK) herbs and oils. Exercise common sense if you decide to make this modern day flying ointment - don't ingest, use if pregnant, have high blood pressure etc.

55mL of jojoba oil
10mL of wheatgerm oil
10mL of a 5% dilution of narcissus in grapeseed oil
11 drops of the pure essential oil of juniperberry
10 drops of the pure essential oil of bog myrtle
9 drops of the pure essential oil of myrtle
15 drops of the pure essential oil of lavender
10 drops of the pure essential oil of roman chamomile
10 drops of the pure essential oil of ylang ylang
10 drops of the pure essential oil of jasmine

Carefully mix all of the oils together and store in either an amber or cobalt blue bottle.
Before using harness the power of the moon by gently shaking the bottle both morning and evening for the 3 days of the full moon.
Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. It has a shelf life of 1-3 months.
How to use it:
Test on a small patch of skin on the inside of your elbow and wait 24 hours to check for reactions. Discard if your skin reacts to the ointment - it's very potent.
If the skin test was ok then apply a small amount to the soles of your feet and lie back in a safe place.
Words of caution:

Make sure you do the skin patch test before using.
Don't consume any alcohol or caffeine in the 24 hours prior to using the ointment.
Use only a small amount - do not use as a massage oil.
Keep away from the nose, eye and mouth area.
